Support for our Shape Space VR - Zen Parade GearVR App
The Shape Space VR - Zen Parade app for GearVR launched in April 2016. So far we've had very few issues reported.
One such issue has occurred for six users that we know of. It only occurs on the S6 running Android operating system 5.0.2 or older. The Zen Parade preview does not play and no error message is given. It is resolved by updating to Android 6.0.1 or higher. One user reported that his phone carrier (AT&T) said they did not have an update for the operating system available and did not know when it would be released, yet we found other users with S6s running more recent versions of Android. Updates to the Android OS are available to the carriers, but how and when they release them, and the information they provide customers is beyond our control. We are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. If you experience this problem please ask your service carrier for the latest update for the Android OS on your S6. We have tested our app on all phones available for the GearVR without issues.
When we created our app, the Note 4 was one of models we developed on and tested for. When we were ready to release, Oculus informed us that in order to support the Note 4, we would have revert to an older version of the SDK which would inhibit future updates, as they were no longer supporting the Note 4. Even though our app still worked on the Note 4, (unless it was using a very old version of Android), we were forced to drop the Note 4 as a supported device in order to continue to update our app. So now, unfortunately, the Zen Parade app does not appear on the Oculus store for users with a Note 4. This is disappointing for us, as many of our fans and followers have the Note 4.
